International trade is an indispensable means to stimulate and achieve its fulfillment. Maintaining productivity and profitability in the production of exportable goods, such as Cuban rum, is essential to meet this goal. The present article presents a methodology to determine the adequate technological equipment that allows reducing the losses of materials and products during the obtaining of rums, at the UEB (Base Business Unit) Manuel Fariñas Núñez, in Santiago de Cuba. To find out the existing technological problems, an observation of the operation of all the technical devices used in production was carried out. Data regarding significant operating variables were collected and the company's warehouse was visited to quantify reserve supplies. From a macroscopic balance of mechanical energy, a mathematical model and an algorithm for solving the problem were developed. During the investigation, it was detected that in the filtration area of the aged rum there are losses of the product due to breakdowns in the pipes. The developed methodology allowed identifying the diameter that satisfies the operating conditions of the system; in addition, it allows obtaining calculation algorithms to select or identify optimal parameters in production systems. The correct selection and operation of technological equipment guarantees the productivity and profitability of a company. |

El octavo objetivo de la Agenda 2030 pretende promover el crecimiento económico sostenido, inclusivo y sostenible, el empleo pleno y productivo, así como el trabajo decente para todos. El comercio internacional es un medio indispensable para favorecer y lograr su cumplimiento. Mantener la productividad y rentabilidad en la producción de bienes exportables, como el ron cubano, es esencial para satisfacer esta meta. El presente trabajo presenta una metodología para determinar un equipamiento tecnológico adecuado que permita reducir las pérdidas de materiales y productos durante la obtención de rones, en la Unidad Empresarial de Base (UEB) Manuel Fariñas Núñez de Santiago de Cuba. Para conocer los problemas tecnológicos existentes, se realizó una observación del funcionamiento de todos los dispositivos técnicos utilizados en la producción. Se recolectaron los datos referentes a las variables significativas de operación y se visitó el almacén de la empresa para cuantificar los suministros de reserva. A partir de un balance macroscópico de energía mecánica, se desarrolló un modelo matemático y un algoritmo de solución del problema. Durante la investigación, se detectó que, en el área de filtración del ron añejado, existen pérdidas del producto debido a daños en las tuberías. La metodología desarrollada permitió identificar el diámetro que satisface las condiciones de operación del sistema; además, posibilita obtener algoritmos de cálculos para seleccionar o identificar parámetros óptimos en sistemas productivos. La correcta escogencia y operación del equipamiento tecnológico garantiza la productividad y rentabilidad de una empresa.
