In the fifth section several recommendations to promote EI in the training of researchers are proposed. Finally, in the conclusions, the relevance of EI in training researchers is developed. |

Este ensayo, producto de la revisión de diversos artículos científicos, tiene por objetivo fundamentar la importancia del desarrollo de la Inteligencia Emocional (IE) en la formación de personas investigadoras. Para cumplir con el propósito anterior, primero se presenta la labor científica como un proceso emocional; luego aborda las relaciones sociales que contribuyen o entorpecen el desarrollo de futuras personas profesionales de la investigación; seguidamente expone cómo las competencias emocionales, propuestas por el modelo mixto de Goleman, auxilian en el proceso de investigación; posteriormente, se analiza cómo las diferentes habilidades del modelo de IE propuesto por Mayer y Salovey son claves en la labor científica; por último se muestran diversas recomendaciones para fomentar la IE en la formación de personas investigadoras. Finalmente, se desarrollan las conclusiones del ensayo donde se resalta la relevancia de la IE en investigadores e investigadoras en formación.
