El artíuculo elabora en forma de hipótesis de interpretación, ciertas consideraciones acerca de las condiciones históricas de posibilidad, socioestructurales e intelectuales, que contribuirían, pienso, a entender la irrupción, en el período entreguerras, durante el siglo XX, de una personalidad, vida y obra, tan atípica, excéntrica, como la de Walter Benjamin. Se confiere especial destaque a la veta neorromántica, presente en su pensamiento, como clave de orientación en el para nada regular entramado que alguna vez mereció, de parte de Ernst Bloch, la, seguramente halagadora para su destinatario, calificación de ‘manera surrealista de pensar‘.
