El artículo reflexiona en torno a los aportes académicos y sociales de lo que se llama una metodología feminista y participativa; es decir, aquella que articula fundamentos de la teoría de género con perspectivas críticas latinoamericanas —Investigación-Acción Participativa (IAP) y educación popular—. Para ello, describe y analiza dos investigaciones de campo en cárceles femeninas de Argentina y México (2015-2020). Entre los hallazgos, se destaca el valor crítico y la posibilidad transformadora de dicha metodología en la cotidianeidad de las mujeres presas.
