La Revista de Ciencias Sociales de la Universidad de Costa Rica dedica esta Sección Especial a la Magíster Cecilia Arguedas Marín, quien fuera su editora durante casi cuatro décadas, quien falleció en el mes de junio del 2019. Doña Cecilia es un ejemplo de entrega a la actividad intelectual, la cual combinó con el activismo social, fiel a su concepción deuna sociología comprometida con el mejoramiento de la calidad de vida de los grupos subordinados, la búsqueda de la equidad y la justicia social.
