Sumario:The main characteristics of the Costa Rican media system are analyzed, including geographic concentration and exclusion in the use of the radioelectric spectrum. The information was collected and verified through telephone calls, as well as the Internet and social networks, between October 2018 and February 2019. Among other aspects, it can be pointed out that most of the media is located in the Province of San José and is absent in 25 of the 82 cantons. Also, it stands out that 57% of the television broadcasters transmit over the Internet or cable companies and do not have access to the radioelectric spectrum.
