Summary:This article explores the commensal practices of employees who have lunch at a bank in Santiago, Chile, in order to understand and characterize the way in which shared food is developed in work contexts. The fieldwork was carried out mainly during the month of July 2015 and included observations and informal interviews. The results show that the practices of institutional commensality are strongly regulated and modeled by the organizational context.
