These situations areglobally strained by the intimate relationship between migration and tourism, marked bynew forms of coloniality. Este artículo estudia algunos rasgos geopolíticos que inciden en la consolidación de CostaRica como una “periferia del placer” turística, para los países del llamado primer mundo.Estas condiciones van desde el contexto internacional, pasando por Centroamérica, a lascondiciones más pequeñas como el caso de la provincia de Guanacaste, hasta llegar a laparticularidad del distrito de Sardinal. Estas situaciones están mundialmente tensadas porla relación íntima entre migración y turismo, marcadas por nuevas formas de colonialidad.
