Sumario:This article studies some geopolitical features that affect the consolidation of Costa Rica asa touristic “pleasure periphery” for so-called first world countries. These conditions initiatefrom the international context, through Central America, at the smaller conditions ofGuanacaste province, up to the particularity of its district Sardinal. These situations areglobally strained by the intimate relationship between migration and tourism, marked bynew forms of coloniality.
