Summary:This article analyzes the Paul Ricoeur’s ideology concept in relation to the Lacanian concepts of the symbolic and the imaginary, and in conjunction with the functions of ideology: deformation, legitimation and integration. In addition, it explains the relation existing between the Utopia concept and the ideology one. Finally, I try explaining some problems related to the Ricoeurian comprehension of ideology.
