| Sumari: | This paper presents a literature review of research on media concentration in Central America. Ninety-seven academic publications (academic journal articles, book chapters, reports, research) that examine concentration and the political economy of communication in Nicaragua, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Honduras, Panama, and Guatemala were analyzed. The article identifies key aspects of each publication, as well as their main concerns and themes, with the aim of identifying trends and academic gaps in the region. Methodologically, an exhaustive review of texts in international databases was carried out, which was systematized in an analysis matrix. Based on this work, this bibliographic review was carried out. |
